SPCA of Westchester Hosts Dog Walk and Pet Fair: May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Westchester will host a dog walk and pet fair May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights. Participants can walk a scenic 2.5-mile path with their canine buddies and then go shopping in the vendor village to help raise funds for the dogs and cats at the SPCA.

“If you sign up now to be a walker, you can choose to create an online fundraising page to gather pledges in support of your walk,” says Lisa Bonanno-Spence, director of events and communications at the SPCA of Westchester. “It’s not mandatory to preregister in order to attend or collect pledges, but it’s greatly appreciated.”

The vendor village will include food and refreshments, as well as activities like games, a photo booth and dog agility demos. Although cats cannot attend the event, cat lovers are encouraged to join the SPCA and walk on their behalf.
