A Mindful Mother’s Day Retreat at Garrison Institute: Offering women an opportunity to explore and deepen their understanding of the experience of being a daughter and, for some, a mother.

On Mother’s Day weekend, May 12 to 14, the Garrison Institute—which hosts retreats, research and educational events aligned with contemplative practices—is offering women an opportunity to explore and deepen their understanding of the experience of being a daughter and, for some, a mother. “Wherever you are in your relationship with your mother and/or daughter, this special weekend retreat is dedicated to the next step forward in your relationship and in your heart,” says Jane Kolleeny, retreats director of the Garrison Institute.

A mother-daughter team, mindfulness teacher Ann Herington and yoga teacher Hannah Baumgardner, will lead the retreat, exploring practices that will help participants align their bodies, hearts and minds and cultivate well-being.

“Everyone who joins them will practice being deeply present with themselves, with kindness and compassion,” Kolleeny says. “As daughters, everyone will share tools and insights to deepen their connection with their bodies and explore their connections to mother, community and earth.”

The retreat will end with lunch on Sunday to enable participants to return home for the rest of Mother’s Day.

The Garrison Institute is located at 14 Mary’s Way, Route 9D at Glenclyffe, Garrison, NY. For more information about the retreat, visit GarrisonInstitute.org/MothersDay or call 845.424.4800. Registrants can invite a female friend, sister, daughter or mother to join them and get 50 percent off that person’s registration.
