Golden Prana Retains Focus on Kundalini Yoga: Grand reopening, set for October 22, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Golden Prana Yoga Studio—formerly known as Golden Temple—is under new management, and at its grand reopening, set for October 22, from 4 to 6 p.m., visitors can see its new look and learn about new classes and retail offerings. But owners and managers Shawna Starr, Carrie Kane and Anne Hughes say one thing isn’t new: the studio’s focus on Kundalini Yoga.

As taught by Yogi Bhajan, Kundalini is known as the “Yoga of Awareness,” Starr explains. “It’s a yoga practice for those seeking a deeper relationship with the truth of oneself. It is not a mystery; it is a system that uses mantra, breath, movement and meditation to activate and balance the nervous and glandular systems. It is a spiritual science that allows the body, mind and spirit to restore, renew and ultimately rise above the turmoil of the world.”

Golden Prana offers a monthly Intro to Kundalini Yoga class, with the next one scheduled for October 17 at 7 p.m. Among its other offerings are monthly gong events; monthly Art and Yoga classes; and a new series, Yoga Play, for moms and young children. It will soon add classes in breath work and tai chi and/or chi kung, and host kirtan singers/chanters throughout the year, including Sitas Light Kirtan on October 7.

Golden Prana Yoga Studio is located at 223 Katonah Ave., Katonah, NY. For more info, call 914.232.3473, email [email protected] or visit the studio’s temporary website, GoldenTempleYoga.com. Its new website, GoldenPrana.yoga, will be live soon.
