Boscobel House and Gardens, considered one of the leading historic house museums in the Unites States, will offer candlelit evening tours for three consecutive weekends after Thanksgiving. Tickets for the tours are available online now.

“With the mansion decorated for a 19th-century Christmas and string musicians performing live in the house, our twilight tours offer an especially beautiful experience of this special place,” says Acting Executive Director Jennifer Carlquist. “As candles light the way, expert docents tell stories that bring Boscobel to life, and children always enjoy searching for gingerbread kids hidden among the decorations. We look forward to sharing the magic of the season with visitors of all ages.”

Each tour concludes with a reception in the decorated gallery. “Boscobel adds to this singular experience with a newly expanded gift shop and live holiday music in the Carriage House,” Carlquist says. Musicians scheduled to perform during the tours are the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra Quintet, the Brasiles Ensemble, the Putnam Chorale, Putnam Joy and Daniel Stevens.

Located in Garrison, Boscobel directly overlooks the Hudson River and West Point. The Neoclassical mansion holds a collection of New York furniture from the Federal period. The Neoclassical mansion holds a collection of New York furniture from the Federal period.
