Rhinebeck Pilates Hosts Workshops in Stamford and NYC: This workshop will deepen knowledge and understanding and inspire teaching.

A Day with Joe: The Man and The Method with Elaine Ewing and Cathy Strack

As part of a weekend workshop hosted by the Art of Control, the Pilates studio will offer a two-part class focused on the Pilates method and the man who created it. A Day with Joe: The Man and The Method will be held December 10, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Art of Control, 1177 Summer Street, 2nd Floor, Stamford, CT.

“Participants will learn many of the well-known exercises in the Pilates Method as Joseph Pilates originally created and taught them, and they’ll get to know the man behind the method,” says Terianne Neden, manager of Rhinebeck Pilates. “This workshop will deepen their knowledge and understanding and inspire their teaching.”

The workshop will be led by Elaine Ewing, owner of Rhinebeck Pilates, and Cathy Strack, who teaches at BodyMind Balance in Cincinnati.

Ewing will also co-lead a double workshop, Pilates and Lymphatics with Sean Gallagher and Historical Pilates Exercises with Elaine Ewing, November 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the New York Pilates Studio, 330 West 42nd Street, NYC. Gallagher is a physical therapist and the owner of the New York Pilates Studio.

“This workshop brings to light the incredible benefits Pilates offers to the health and maintenance of our bodies,” Neden says. “Sean will explain how Authentic Pilates can stimulate normal function of the lymph and other body fluids to improve health and immunity, while Elaine will delve deeper into some of Joseph Pilates’ lesser-known exercises.”
