Natural Awakenings Westchester / Putnam / Dutchess New York

Westchester’s Nontoxic Nail Salon : Brushed Up uses only nonhazardous products and works strictly on natural nails.

Brushed Up: Nail Art Studio

With their UV hard gels and acrylics, most nail salons are the opposite of natural and healthy. But Brushed Up: Nail Art Studio in White Plains has made it safe to get a manicure or pedicure. The only nontoxic nail salon in Westchester County, Brushed Up uses only nonhazardous products and works strictly on natural nails.

Brushed Up is the creative debut of Natasha Wood, a nail artist who began her career working at Paintbox in NYC. “Nail art has been a passion of mine for years now,” she says. “My time spent working in Manhattan fueled a fire I knew I had to share with other people, and that’s what bred Brushed Up. It’s the embodiment of healthy, natural nails adorned with a touch of each client’s personal style. Artist and client work together to create a unique manicure experience like no other. “

The studio offers regular polish, soak-off color gel and nail art. In lieu of a color wall, it showcases its seasonal color and art selections in a sleek, printed look-book.

“Although nails are our specialty, we also love events,” Wood adds. “Every three months, we host a Full Moon Party with a resident henna artist from Brooklyn and a rotating list of vendors offering aromatherapy, tarot reading, massage, Reiki and more. You can also catch us at monthly pop-up events around Westchester County.”
