Community Cares, a nonprofit organization that supports families in medical crisis, will host a Care Walk and Harvest Festival on October 8 at Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster. This family-friendly event will include a 10:30 a.m. fun walk (9:30 a.m. registration), hayrides, a pumpkin patch, touch-a-truck and local vendors.

Proceeds will benefit Community Cares, which provides help with normal household tasks for families of school-aged children who have a parent dealing with cancer or another major medical illness. It serves families throughout Putnam, northern Westchester and southern Dutchess Counties by providing meals, laundry service and household cleaning.

The event will be an opportunity to acknowledge the organization’s 2018 honorees: survivors of the year Alex and Marialisa Zywotchenko, outstanding fundraiser of the year Mahopac Teacher's Association and sponsor of the year Aversano’s restaurant.

Vendor tables are still available for $50. Festival vendors are asked to consider donating a basket or gift certificate for a raffle.

Location: 100 Rte. 312, Brewster, NY. Cost: non-walkers $5 per person or $20 per family. For general info, visit CommunityCares.org. For vendor info, email [email protected] or call 845.621.CARE.
