Winter Solstice celebration at The Chapel at Croton Falls

The Chapel at Croton Falls Presbyterian Church (USA) will celebrate the holiday season this month with its annual interfaith Winter Solstice celebration at 6 p.m. on December 16, followed by Christmas at the Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on December 24.

Special guests at the solstice celebration will include songstress Kristin Hoffmann, multi-instrumentalist and flute player Premik Russell Tubbs, Native American medicine man and holistic healer Bear Walker, and local group Westchester Spirited Drumming. People of all ages are invited to bring a drum or rattle and join in. There is a suggested donation of $15.

“The Chapel hosts monthly Interfaith Sundays, usually on the third Sunday morning of the month. But the solstice service is always held in the evening, so that the darkened church can be filled with the light from our candles and the glorious Christmas tree donated each year by the Outhouse family,” says Rev. Deborah Moldow.

The event is sponsored by the nonprofit Garden of Light, a platform for emerging spirituality that arose out of the interfaith services at the Chapel. For more info, visit GardenOfLight.org.

Christmas at the Chapel will be led by Acting Pastor June Tompkins, with Moldow serving as soloist.

Location: 609 Rte. 22, Croton Falls, NY. For more info, visit ChapelAtCrotonFalls.org.
