Ronni Sarrett Lederman, who has19 years’ experience teaching singing and speaking voice improvement, will offer a workshop, Express Yourself: Your Voice Is Your Vibration, from 1 to 4 p.m., December 2, at Wainwright House in Rye. Participants will learn to “connect their inner voice to their outer voice for complete freedom of expression.”

“Your voice is the interactive vehicle that you take with you into the world as you connect with others,” she says. “It propels you to create who you are and the formation of your energy in the world. This program is designed to explore the interdependence of your speaking voice, your intended communication, the breath and your body. Learning how to open up the voice is often a life-changing and liberating experience. The process is one of open exploration and incorporates the whole person—mind, body and spirit.”

This workshop will include a relaxation meditation, vocal and breathing exercises, movement and exploratory sound making. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to move and use their voice. No singing experience is necessary.

An occupation therapist and a member of the New York Singing Teachers Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Voice Foundation, Lederman has performed as a jazz, opera and folk singer in metropolitan New York and is founder and producer of Palisades Opera.
