Inaugural Summer Sounds Festival Kicks Off in Peekskill: 2 to 10 p.m. on July 27, on Peekskill’s downtown waterfront
Peekskill Summer Sounds Festival, a free, family-friendly event featuring six musical acts, more than 40 vendors, food trucks and a kids zone, will be held from 2 to 10 p.m. on July 27, on Peekskill’s downtown waterfront. This is the inaugural year for what organizers envision as a new summer tradition in the Hudson Valley.
“The Summer Sounds Festival will be one of the Hudson Valley’s premiere summer musical and creative events, drawing thousands of people from the tri-state area to enjoy this free, open-air concert on the streets of historic downtown Peekskill,” says Monique Michaels, who chairs the festival’s music committee and is on the board of Peekskill’s Business Improvement District (BID).
The music will kick off with Conigliaro Consorts, a four-piece jazz ensemble, playing from 2:15 to 3 p.m., followed by folk group Accidental Gypsies playing from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m., blues group Ricky Blues playing from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m., alt-rock group Blue Chips playing from 6 to 6:45 p.m., and rock group Vinyl Siding playing from 7:15 to 8 p.m. River of Dreams, a Billy Joel tribute band, will take the stage at 8 p.m. and play until the festival’s close.
The Peekskill Summer Sounds Festival is presented by the BID and sponsored in part by Bertoline.
