Stony Kill’s Annual Butterfly Festival Set for July 27: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 27

Stony Kill Foundation’s Annual Butterfly Festival, one of the foundation’s two signature fundraising events, will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 27 at Stony Kill Farm Environmental Education Center, in Wappingers Falls.

Each year more than 2,000 people come to the festival to visit the Monarch Education Table and the Butterfly Tent, which is stocked with monarch and swallowtail butterflies at various stages. Master gardeners will be in attendance to educate and answer questions about Stony Kill Foundation’s Verplanck Memorial Garden. Entertainment includes face painters, a henna artist, hula hoop demonstrations and various vendors, and this year’s festival will feature a horse show as well.

While this is a donation-based event, VIP tickets are also available. They include a ride on the Butterfly Mobile, a festival T-shirt and a ticket to the “fast pass” Butterfly Tent.

Cost: suggested donations of $7 for general admission, $17 for a VIP ticket or $65 for VIP tickets for a family of four. Children under 5 are free. Location: Stony Kill Farm Environmental Education Center, 79 Farmstead Ln., Wappingers Falls, NY. For more info, contact Karen Finnegan at 845.416.8324 or [email protected], or visit StonyKill.org.
