Joy Matalon to Teach CranioSacral Therapy Workshop in Mount Kisco

Oct 02, 2019 10:34AM ● By Marilee Burrell

Joy Matalon, a licensed massage therapist and craniosacral therapist with The Center For Health and Healing, will teach a workshop, Healing with CranioSacral Therapy, from 2 to 4 p.m. on November 2.

“My journey began over 35 years ago, when I became certified in a form of body-centered meditation that allowed me to move through my own anxiety with grace,” Matalon says. “I discovered how softly shifting our approach to ourselves creates insight and healing. CranioSacral Therapy is a hands-on way to assist this process of developing intimacy with parts of ourselves that, through stress or trauma, have become unconscious. It’s in these unconscious parts of our bodies where healing happens. CST helps us gently meet ourselves in the moment, allowing old nervous system patterns to be felt and released, creating a pathway to physical well-being and inner peace.”

According to Matalon, CST helps address anxiety, depression, headaches, insomnia, TMJ and many other conditions. In addition to learning how CST heals, participants in her workshop will have an opportunity to practice a body-centered meditation and experience their own craniosacral rhythm. They will be given self-care exercises as well.

A licensed NYS massage therapist for more than 30 years, Matalon is certified in CST through The Great River CranioSacral Institute.
