From March 13 to 19, Quad Cinema, in Greenwich Village, will host the theatrical release of The Dog Doc, an award-winning film about integrative veterinarian Dr. Marty Goldstein. A practitioner at  Smith Ridge Veterinary Center in South Salem, NY, Goldstein and his clinic are known for their groundbreaking approach to improving quality of life for pets.

The Dog Doc combines the real-life stories of families and their pets with the hard science of integrative care. By casting an intimate lens over this unique world, the film shows the healing powers of holistic wellness, compassion and hope.

Last year the Hollywood Reporter wrote, “Director Cindy Meehl has crafted an admiring portrait, to be sure, but one that poses penetrating questions about what passes for health care today in the United States, for people and their pets alike…. The Dog Doc is a visionary approach to caring for animals and ourselves, a way of more truly sharing the planet rather than trying to control it.”

The film is the latest directorial venture for Meehl, who founded Cedar Creek Productions in 2008. She is a director and/or an executive producer of several documentaries, including Buck and Dogs on the Inside. She is also the executive producer of The River and the Wall, an award-winning film that premiered last year at SXSW, and Rewind, a 2019 Official Tribeca Film Festival Selection, as well as For the Birds, Trapped and Unbranded.

Location: 34 W. 13th St. For more information, including show times, visit QuadCinema.com.
