‘Green’ Indoor Air Sanitizing Company Busy in 2020

When Tom Schasller and Valerie Maziarz teamed up in late 2014 to create a new business, Oxygen and Sanitizing Systems, they shared a commitment to giving people a cost-effective way to have the healthiest indoor air possible, using innovative eco-friendly and FDA-approved products and services. While “green cleaning” was clearly the way of the future, they likely never anticipated how critical their services would become just a few years later.

With cold weather driving more people inside, Schasller and Maziarz have been busy treating homes, rental properties, offices, restaurants, gyms and even vehicles, boats and RVs, with a specially priced disinfection and antimicrobial protocol. They say their clinically proven methods eradicate 99.9 percent of viruses (including Covid-19, MRSA, H1N1 and norovirus), as well as harmful bacteria, odors and mold spores, without the use of dangerous and irritating chemicals.

“This is the same technology used by the White House and commercial airlines,” Schassler says.

He has multiple licenses and certifications as a mold contractor, ozone technician and safety pandemic officer; she is a certified mold inspector. Both stress the importance of staying current with rapidly changing technology, and continuous education through seminars and certifications.

Indoor air quality is now more important than ever due to the shuttering of homes because of the colder temperatures, Maziarz says. She calls the effect “tight house”—especially in homes with foam insulation, the structure can’t properly breathe, so indoor contaminants tend to accumulate and thrive.

“Germs, bacteria and harmful mold spores enjoy the comfort of home too,” she says. “Risk increases with families spending more time indoors. Wherever you live and work, one thing must be certain: The quality of the air your family, customers and pets breathe is contaminant free and healthy. We fully understand family comes first, and quite frankly we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
