Summer Kripalu Yoga Classes in Dobbs Ferry : The Rivertown Center for Yoga and Health

Beth Bierko

The Rivertown Center for Yoga and Health presents a five-week summer season this year from Monday, July 7, through Saturday, August 9, 2014. The decision to open in the summer was born of student demand at this Kripalu affiliated studio, located in the South Presbyterian Church in Dobbs Ferry, NY.

“While some members of the community do go away in the summer, many stay around and they really enjoy the opportunity to gather as a sangha, or spiritual community, for practice,” says co-owner Scott Bierko. “How could we say no to that?”

In addition to Kripalu classes in yoga and meditation, Rivertown’s Monday night community series will also continue through the season, offering a singing circle, a Reiki circle and restorative yoga, all by donation. “It has long been the policy of The Rivertown Center to offer yoga to all those who need it, and sometimes when we need it the most is when we can afford it the least,” says studio director Beth Bierko. “The Monday night series allows anyone to receive the healing benefits of singing, chanting, Reiki and restorative yoga at whatever amount they can afford. These have become some of our most popular offerings.”

A schedule of classes and events, as well as fees, can be found at RivertownYoga.com.
