Lace Up to Help Those Battling Cancer

Bring help and hope to folks fighting breast, ovarian and other gynecological cancers by participating in Support Connection’s annual Support-A-Walk on October 1, 2023. This year’s walk will take place at Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) State Park, in Yorktown Heights, as well as in communities nationwide. Pre-walk activities begin at 9 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 10 a.m.

The Support-A-Walk is held to bring attention to the needs of people living with breast, ovarian and other gynecological cancers. Each year, thousands of people from across the Hudson Valley and beyond take part in this uplifting community event. Many participants walk in celebration of or in tribute to those affected by these diseases. Proceeds help fund Support Connection’s free, year-round programs and services.

“Whether showing support locally or from afar, there are many ways to be of help,” encourages Communications and Special Projects Coordinator Celeste Baccari. “You can walk in FDR State Park, walk in your own neighborhood, walk on your own or form a walk team with family and friends. And, whether you walk or not, you can donate and fundraise and spread the word to everyone you know,” she adds.

Location: FDR State Park, 2957 Crompond Rd., Yorktown Heights, NY. For more information or to make a donation, call 914.962.6402, email [email protected] or visit
