Summer Workshops at the Pearl

John Omilana

Persephone’s Pearl—a Peekskill-based shop and center for spiritual development geared toward serving the community by leading people to divinity in a way that resonates with them—has been revamping and creating new workshops to keep the community informed.

Beginning this month, they are offering Afro-Caribbean Spiritual Practices, a five-part series (from 6 to 7 p.m., June 13 and 16, July 11 and 14 and August 8, 2024) that examines the different African diasporic practices that came out of the Caribbean, how they got to be there and other details. Then, in a three-part part series—Spiritual Bath Workshop (from 6 to 7 p.m., June 20 and 23 and July 18)—participants will learn different recipes to refresh their energy and call good things to them.

“It’s important to understand the different spiritual walks that exist in our world; due to social media, a lot of things could be misconstrued because of misinformation,” says owner John Omilana. “We also strive to help people develop a sense of spiritual awareness and cleansing techniques to truly live holistically.”

Visitors to the Pearl can also peruse candles, crystals, stones, jewelry, herbs, oils and more, plus the shop continues to expand its ongoing services such as readings, trainings, healings, cleansings and other special events.

Cost: $20 per each Afro-Caribbean class; $40 per each Spiritual Bath class. Discounts are available when all sessions are pre-purchased. Location: Persephone’s Pearl, 1014 B Main St., Peekskill. For more information or to register, visit PersephonesPearl.com.
