Just in time for its fifteenth anniversary—and the first anniversary of its new location at 450 Mamaroneck Avenue in Harrison, NY—Full Circle Women’s Health has announced that it’s in-network with several insurance companies, enabling most women to choose the prenatal care and birth they desire. Full Circle’s certified nurse midwives offer integrative individualized care for women of all ages, specializing in pregnancy, labor and birth. Births are at Phelps Memorial Medical Center, a community hospital with the lowest Cesarean section rate in Westchester County.

“A unique aspect of our practice is our approach to labor in the hospital,” says Lisa Gussack, founder and director of Full Circle Women’s Health. “We encourage you to stay home as long as possible, but when you do arrive at the hospital, your midwife will be available throughout your labor to provide support in whatever way feels best for you. We welcome any supportive people you choose to bring—family, friend or doula.”

Laboring patients are encouraged to be mobile and to eat and drink, Gussack says. For those whose goal is to labor without pain medication, the midwives will help them with time-honored comfort techniques. For those who choose it, pain relief is available through IV and epidural. Women also can choose any position for birthing. “As long as it’s safe for you and your baby, we will let you find what feels best for you,” Gussack says.
