Eco-Friendly Day Spa Opens in White Plains: Quality, Affordability and Eco-Friendliness

When they decided to open a day spa in White Plains, Maria and Mike Hourigan chose the unconventional: spavia. They say the name reflects the franchise’s unconventional approach to relaxation, with its emphasis on quality, affordability and eco-friendliness. Theirs is the first spavia to open its doors in New York State.

“spavia means the pathway to wellness, which is the foundation for everything we offer: our exemplary service, our luxury amenities and retreat rooms, our nurturing and healing treatments and products, and our goal to become one of the greenest spas on earth,” Maria says. “Our highly-trained and licensed massage therapists and estheticians focus on result-driven and customized treatments that provide a truly personal, healing experience for every guest.”

Among its offerings are Swedish, hot-stone, sports, deep-tissue, couples and prenatal massage; age-defense facials; hydraderm; peels; detoxifying body wraps; full-body waxing; spray tans; and spa packages that include hours of relaxation and wellness with a healthy lunch. spavia can accommodate groups such as company gatherings, birthdays, bridal parties and baby showers, and it offers flexible and affordable memberships.

The spa’s dedication to the environment shows in its use of natural ingredients and environmentally friendly products and packaging, Maria says. “We focus on products made in the USA and carefully choose vendors who share our commitment to healthy living and to sustaining our natural resources. We want every guest to look and feel great from the inside out when they leave us.”

Spavia is located at 250 Main St. in the heart of White Plains City Center, next to the Cambria Hotel and Suites. For more info, visit spaviaDaySpa.com or call 914.368.2525.
