Stephanie Diamond will lead a 5Rhythms family dance from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on May 4, at the Ascend Center, in Cold Spring. Practiced by tens of thousands of people worldwide, 5Rhythms was created by Gabrielle Roth as “a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion, it will heal itself.”

This will be the first 5Rhythms family dance event in the Hudson Valley, and Diamond says she’s looking forward to it.

“People of all ages and family structures are invited to come dance, move and shake with the 5Rhythms dance map,” she says. “All family members are asked to take part and dance, so they should wear comfortable clothing and leave their shoes at the door. They should also make sure to bring water and a snack for the family. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.”
