New Summer Retreats Overlooking the Hudson
The Center at Mariandale sponsors retreats and
programs in spirituality, contemplative practices, social and environmental
justice, interfaith dialogue, the arts, wellness of body, mind, and spirit, and
more. Guests enjoy the quiet, serene environment at the center surrounded by 61
acres of nature along the Hudson River. Retreats include arts and
nature-focused retreats, as well as introspective and spiritual programs.
This summer, the
retreats and programs coming up in their newly refurbished center include two
new offerings for adults under 45. Participants stay in air-conditioned comfort
and enjoy the pool, picnics and the center’s beautiful property during the
retreats.
Earth-Centered Mindfulness is a one-night retreat that explores
pathways for simple living through eating, gardening, composting and buying
clothes in just and ecologically friendly ways, on June 10, 2023.
The Misfits to Mystics: When Pride is a Virtue is a weekend
retreat on June 23, 2023, with Jan Phillips, focusing on the reasons that marginalized
people may feel shame, loneliness, and a sense of being on the outside. “This
is an opportunity to celebrate the brilliance of creating a spiritual integrity
from the bottom up and discover new ways to give thanks, give service and share
your resilience in these challenging times,” says Program Coordinator Karen
Bernard.
These retreats,
and many other summer offerings coming up at Mariandale, offer guests a
beautiful, natural environment in which to focus on their own spirituality or
personal growth; time to paint, read, swim and relax.
Location: 299 N. Highland Ave., Ossining, NY.
