When, where and how was your business founded? Nationwide Maintenance was founded back in 1997 out of my home in the Bronx. As a single mother of four small boys, I was unable to work a traditional 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. job and also care for my children, so I had to come up with a way to provide for my family during hours that worked with my schedule. We started as a small maintenance and repair company and have grown into a full-service maintenance and general construction company that handles some of the largest retail names in the world, along with residential clients.

What products or services do you offer? Interior home remodel, fence, blacktop, masonry, painting and more. Along with interior home remodeling, we provide a wide range of maintenance and construction services including painting, plumbing, electrical, blacktop, masonry, fence repair and installation, sidewalk and concrete repair and installation, carpet and VCT tile replacement and new installation, ceiling tile installation, handyman repairs and demo/post-construction cleanup.

What are you most proud of? My business is a woman-owned and family-operated company in service for more than 25 years. We use sustainable products that are environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Our company works with local vendors and businesses as much as possible to source materials and local subcontractors, if needed, for projects. We believe that working with local vendors and suppliers keeps the community working together and helps keep small businesses alive. Plus, most employees have been with us for 10 or more years and are trustworthy in the field and in the office.

How is your business different from your competitors? Nationwide Maintenance works hand in hand with homeowners and business owner to complete projects from start to finish. We work with local architects, designers and engineers, and personally consult with the clients to bring their vision to life. A priority of ours is being hands on throughout the entire process of the project. Attention to detail is one of the most important services that we offer to our clients. We work closely with the clients, vendors and installers to make sure that the project runs smoothly and meets the customer’s expectations to give an extra special touch.
