Kaleo Wheeler, a musical storyteller and leader of women’s empowerment workshops, presents “Musical Storytelling from the Heart” on Friday, September 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert, which takes place at the Soulauras Wisdom and Wellness Center in Briarcliff Manor, NY, is followed by a weekend workshop for women on Hawaiian sacred chant and dance.

Wheeler’s musical storytelling reflects her love for the ancient Hawaiian way of life. “Hawaiians call it ‘The Way of the Heart,’ and their forms of storytelling are unique to the Hawaiian Islands,” says Wheeler. “They combine ‘Talk Story’ and traditional hula, the ‘Dance of the Heart,’ and each story reflects an important message to help audience members remember their own stories and sense of purpose and feel more at peace.” 

Women can also explore “Living the Way of the Heart” more deeply in the two-day workshop that follows the concert on Saturday, September 21, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 22, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is $30, or $230 for the concert and workshop.
