MAYfest—a new, family-friendly festival celebrating music, art and yoga—will be held May 22-24, 2015, at Surprise Lake Camp in Cold Spring, NY.

The event is the brainchild of the folks behind Catskill Chill and SkyBaby Yoga & Pilates Studio, who are billing it as “a homegrown Hudson Valley festival where everyone gets to go back to camp with the most amazing ‘counselors’ in the industry.” MAYfest features free parking and camping, craft and food vendors, meal plans, and multiple cabin rental options at a secluded sleep-away camp in the mountains. Festival goers can spend the entire weekend at the serene lakeside setting, visit for the day, or just come at night for the music.

During the day, attendees will be able to select from a variety of classes, workshops and outdoor activities. Yoga classes from both world-renowned and local instructors will be offered from sunrise to sunset, in multiple locations. Creative art classes, provided by local nonprofit Garrison Arts Center, will include landscape painting, origami, bookmaking and block printing. Well-known yoga photographer Robert Sturman will also hold workshops sharing his art. Outdoor activities are myriad, ranging from Standup Paddleboard Yoga and guided hikes to beach parties and a rock-climbing wall. Plenty of family and children’s activities, including a movie slumber party, are on the schedule as well. Live music each night will give attendees a chance to let loose after a day of practice and study.
