New Yoga for Back Care Offerings at Back2Health Yoga

Back2Health Yoga—a Wappingers Falls-based Iyengar yoga studio specializing in yoga for back care and scoliosis—presents three upcoming series: the Back Care and Scoliosis Four-Week Series, to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Fridays, beginning February 23, 2024; the Yoga for Scoliosis Introductory Four-Week Series, to be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning March 6, 2024; and the Healthy Spine Three-Week Series, to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Fridays, beginning March 22, 2024.
“With its emphasis on safety, optimal alignment and attention to detail, Iyengar yoga is ideal for individuals with scoliosis and other back conditions,” says Cristina Roy, owner and certified Iyengar yoga teacher. “Developing a consistent yoga practice can be empowering and brings hope that you can do something to improve your condition and quality of life.”
The Back Care Series is designed to cater to the unique needs of individuals dealing with back issues, including scoliosis. Participants can expect a blend of therapeutic yoga postures; supported, active poses; and mindful breathing techniques. Attendees of the Introductory Series will learn both the foundational skills needed to work with scoliosis and the basic anatomy of the spine including understanding their specific curve pattern. The Healthy Spine Series focuses on a specific area of the spine each week—low back, thoracic and neck and shoulders—providing participants a comprehensive and targeted approach to spine health.
